Q.2: Is STAAP alive and well ? - Answer:

Indeed, STAAP is second to no other album software !
Since its inception in 1997 STAAP has progressed to the level of Vermeil (83/100 points) as a literature exhibit at the Hafnia 01 World stamp exhibition (Oct 2001). There, STAAP easily beat 12 other software exhibits and only came second to a bibliography of Argentine philatelic literature.
(NB: Most philatelic software products do not enter exhibition competitions at all, let alone competition at international level stamp exhibitions.)

A.3: Well, morlin STAAP moved house, changed job, took part in organizing Hafnia 01 and expects to become a father by April. Very little time was left for STAAP developments, but V 2.41 is now posted with minor improvement of the Tutorial/Kiosk demos.

A.4: Updating (this) Staapweb, certainly. Apart from that, my now working with insurance co. data warehousing and learning about databases and scripting is certainly conducive to more STAAP developments in the long run. More so than being an environmental consultant. E.g. a scripted and browser based XML/SVG version of STAAP is conceptually well within reach.
